Delete Account & Data Deletion

At habit.do, we respect your right to control your personal information and habit records. If you decide to stop using habit.do, you have complete freedom to permanently delete your account and all associated data.

1. Overview of Data Deletion

When you request an account deletion:

• Habit Records & History: All daily completions, streak logs, notes, and custom habits are permanently erased from our sync servers.
• To-Do Lists: All pending and completed tasks are permanently removed.
• Account Credentials & Profile: Your email address, authentication credentials, and user profile are permanently deleted.
• Waitlist & Newsletter Data: Your email is immediately unlinked and removed from our active distribution lists.

Note: Once deletion is finalized, this action cannot be undone. Any streaks or historical logs cannot be recovered.

2. How to Delete Your Account

Option A: From Within the Mobile App (iOS / Android)

1. Open the habit.do app on your device.
2. Tap the Notebook Menu / Settings icon in the top corner.
3. Scroll down and select Account & Privacy.
4. Tap Delete Account & Data.
5. Read the confirmation prompt and tap Permanently Delete My Account.
6. Your cloud data and session will be immediately purged.

Option B: For Offline / Local-Only Users

If you used habit.do without creating a cloud sync account:

• All your data is stored locally on your device.
• Simply clearing the app data or uninstalling the app permanently removes 100% of your habits, notes, and checkmarks from your device.

Option C: Submit an Online Deletion Request

If you no longer have the app installed, or if you signed up for the waitlist / early access and want your email removed:

• Send an email from your registered email address to [habit.tick@atomicmail.io](mailto:habit.tick@atomicmail.io) with the subject line: Account Deletion Request.
• Alternatively, use the deletion request form provided below on this page.
• We will verify your request and permanently erase your account data within 7 business days.

3. Data Retention Period

• Immediate Deletion: Active database records, user profiles, and sync documents are deleted immediately upon in-app confirmation or within 7 days of verified email request.
• Server Backups: Encrypted system backups rotate and overwrite automatically within 30 days, after which no traces remain anywhere across our infrastructure.
• Legal & Security Exceptions: In rare cases, minimal transaction logs may be retained if strictly required for legal compliance or fraud prevention, as permitted under GDPR Article 17 and CCPA.
